Aims and Scope
The TERECONET Newsletter, a quarterly publication by the TESOL Research Collaboration Network (TERECONET), serves as a platform for advancing TESOL research practice. Featuring a variety of articles (as outlined below), its primary objectives are to:
Offer practical research knowledge and skills curated by seasoned researchers to empower readers.
Highlight reflections on learning and research experiences from early-career researchers and research learners.
Showcase the latest research in language education that directly influences and benefits the ESOL classroom.
Article Types
Research Tip: These articles offer practical insights and techniques related to research methods in language education and applied linguistics, aiming to equip readers with actionable knowledge to enhance their research endeavors.
Research Reflection: This category features narratives, insights, and reflections from early-career researchers and research learners. Through sharing lessons learned, challenges overcome, and experiences gained, these articles should provide valuable perspectives on the journey of research and learning in the field of TESOL.
Research Review: These articles provide critical evaluations and summaries of research papers with direct relevance to the ESOL classroom. By synthesizing key findings, methodologies, and implications, these reviews offer educators valuable insights into cutting-edge research and its practical applications in language teaching and learning.
Formatting Guidelines
Length: Articles should not exceed 500 words.
Style:
Use clear and accessible language suitable for a diverse audience of educators and researchers.
Use a reflective and introspective tone to engage readers and convey personal experiences effectively.
Include relevant citations or references to support the presented tips and techniques.
Formatting:
Use headings and subheadings to organize content logically.
Include bullet points or numbered lists for step-by-step instructions or key points.
Ensure consistency in formatting and style throughout the article.
Maintain a balanced and objective tone throughout the review.
Include citations or references to support critical analysis and evaluation.
Ensure clarity and coherence in presenting arguments and insights.
Review Process
To ensure unbiased evaluation, your article will undergo a blinded peer review. This means the reviewer will assess its content and merit without knowing your identity. After receiving feedback from the reviewer, one of our editors will collaborate with you to refine the article and guide it towards publication.
Use of Illustrative Images
To visually enhance your article, you're welcome to include two images that directly relate to its content. Remember, these images should either be your own creations or sourced from websites offering free-to-use licenses.

For optimal formatting and submission, we kindly ask that you utilize our Microsoft Word template when crafting your article. This ensures consistency and facilitates the review process. Please note that submissions outside of this template format cannot be accepted.
