Terms and Conditions TESS Funding
1. Introduction
These terms and conditions ("Terms") govern the application for and administration of classroom-based research funding ("Funding") provided by TERECONET Summer School in TESOL Research Methods ("TESS"). The Funding aims to support action research projects conducted by TESS alumni in English as a Foreign Language (EFL) classrooms in Vietnam.
2. Funding Details
Funding Source: Profits generated from TESS events.
Funding Amount: Between 2,000,000 VND and 4,000,000 VND per project.
Eligible Expenses:
Research materials directly related to the project.
Participant compensation (if applicable and ethically approved).
Conference fees for presenting research findings at a TESS or other relevant academic event.
Funding Period: Six (6) months from the date the award is announced.
Number of Awards: Up to ten (10) projects will be funded.
3. Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the Funding, applicants must:
Be an alumnus/alumna of the TERECONET Summer School in TESOL Research Methods (TESS).
Be currently (self)-employed as an English language teacher in Vietnam.
4. Application Process
Application Deadline: 31 October 2024.
Application Requirements:
Completed research proposal using the provided template.
Curriculum Vitae (CV) for all investigators involved in the project.
Submission: Applications must be submitted electronically to Mr Vu Tran-Thanh at thanhvu0304@gmail.com.
5. Selection Process
A selection committee will review all eligible applications.
Applications will be evaluated based on the criteria outlined in the provided marking rubric.
The selection committee's decision is final.
6. Research Project Requirements
Research Focus: Projects must focus on action research conducted in an EFL classroom in Vietnam.
Ethical Considerations: All research projects must adhere to ethical research practices, including obtaining informed consent from participants and ensuring data privacy.
Reporting Requirements: A final research report is required upon project completion. Additionally, Funding recipients are expected to disseminate their findings by presenting at a TESS event or another relevant academic conference.
7. Funding Agreement
Successful applicants will be required to sign a Funding Agreement outlining the terms and conditions of the award.
Failure to comply with the Funding Agreement may result in the termination of the Funding and the requirement to reimburse any disbursed funds.
8. Intellectual Property
The intellectual property rights to the research findings will remain with the investigators.
9. Acknowledgement of Funding
All publications, presentations, and other outputs arising from the research must acknowledge the support of TERECONET.
